School may be out, but summer 2017 will still be alive with learning when kids hit the road to participate in Row by Row Experience’s brand new program, Row by Row Jr. It’s for kids ages 6 to 14 and follows the same schedule as adult Row by Row. Kids travel along with an adult, collect free row patterns designed just for them to make, and learn to sew at home with family help and support from www.rowbyrowexperience.com. Find participating shops here.
We created free downloadable materials and tutorials to make this summer experience the best ever. We’ll be adding more daily as we approach June 21, the first day of Row by Row Experience 2017.

Row by Row Experience Travel Planning
Row by Row Experience offers many resources to help make travel planning easy this summer. Nearly a 1000 local quilt shops made the decision to offer Row by Row Junior as part of their shop’s experience this summer. You can find Junior shops in all 50 states and Canada. There are two shops in Great Britain too!
To find them and make your travel plans, visit www.rowbyrowexperience.com.
Click on the Start Here tab. It will open up another page. Scroll down until you see the FabricPlate for the area you want to visit. Click it.
It will open up three images. One is the area FaceBook page that you will surely want to visit. The area Facebook pages are where all the rows are posted and winning quilts can be found. They’re where all the action happens throughout the summer and all year long. “Like” the page if you’re a FaceBook user so you can be a part of the fun. You can “like” as many pages as you want.
The other two images represent very important, easy to follow lists of participating shops complete with addresses and phone numbers. It’s always a good idea to check a shop’s hours and call ahead if you’re travelling a long distance. The picture list is a visual display of each shop’s unique row design (for adult Row by Row).
You can find Row by Row Junior participating shops on both lists. They have red asterisks on the travel list and blue JR badge icons on the picture list. Both of these lists can be printed out or saved to your phone for easy travel reference.
Scroll down on this page for a quick alphabetical list of participating shops too. The symbol with the number 9 in it means that shop is offering The Ninth Row, our row pattern where proceeds are donated to charity. Ask about it at your favorite shop.
Return to the Row by Row home page and click on the Map button. Clicking it will open up a HUGE Google map that you can zoom in on to find shops on your travel list. You can find which shops offer Junior on this map too.
Here’s the link again to the Row by Row Experience home page again so you can get started. Click here.
Our Row by Row Junior mission:
We want to enhance your Row by Row Experience with “kid friendly” educational materials that foster the love of fabric and machine sewing, strengthen inter-generational family relationships, and support local quilt shops everywhere.”
Kids can! All they need is opportunity, practice, a few good tools, and a willing adult.
